Atlanta (October 29, 2007) — Research reported October 29 in the online version of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) provides evidence that some molecular interactions on cell surfaces may have a “memory” that affects their future interactions. The report could lead to a re-examination of results from certain single-molecule research.

Re: Нее, тут "голографических фантомов" не наблюдается...

прочитала внимательно статью
так они _столько_ и не напридумавыли... стат. модель очень простая and appropriate. показывает существование зависимости в исходах эксперимента. меня не убеждает их negative feedback, meaning that I wouldn't call it a strong evidence for the negative feedback in that type of interaction, however there is something there, maybe there is just a weak effect for C-cadherins and lack of power to detect it.
Apparently, all that press-release hassle is just because you don't get your paper accepted to PNAS every day ;) but as far as I understood they never claimed anything revolutionary, it's more of a "closer look" and outlining ways to refine current modeling of the adhesion probabilities.
